Safehands Recruitment announces support for charities in 2024

At Safehands Recruitment, we are delighted to announce our support for two charities in 2024. As a company, we are passionate about helping local causes and people in need. We love putting on events and taking part in challenges and this year is no different.

The two charities we are supporting this year are Winston’s Wish and Action Medical Research. We have already taken part in a fun Wear Wellies Day and eight members of the team are currently undergoing rigorous training in preparation for a tri-challenge in June.

A little bit about the charities…

Winston’s Wish provide vital support that helps children, teenagers and young adults (up to the age of 25) find their feet when their worlds are turned upside down by grief.

They support young people across the UK to understand their feelings by providing information, on-demand services, bereavement support and counselling.

Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children’s lives through medical research.

For 65 years they’ve helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people.

Their research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths and they are working to develop more new treatments and cures for sick babies and children.

What are we up to this year so far…

On Saturday 29th June, we are completing the Race the Sun Challenge in Corfe, Dorset. We are cycling 28 miles across a mixture of road, off-road and gravel tracks, hiking 9 miles across coastal footpaths and then canoeing 2 miles to the finish line. We will be holding events around Cheltenham, Hereford and Worcester to raise money, and we will announce more on our social media pages throughout the year.
