The Role – 

This exciting role involves overall responsibility of this Children’s Residential service and working alongside the Responsible Individual to commission services with Ofsted.

You will be liaising with the local commissioners and building a team from inception, where you will be tasked with creating an energetic and passionate team to make a difference to the young persons life.

The organisation prides themselves on investing in their own, and value professional development, with initially junior team members now important components of the Senior Management Team.

 

Location – 

The head office is based in Leeds, with other placements in the West Yorkshire area.

 

Required – 

  • Level 5 (NVQ) Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care and Children’s and Young People’s Services or Social Worker with Residential Experiences
  • 2 years’ experience managing a team
  • Good people management skills
  • Knowledge of the Ofsted regulations and standards
  • Passionate about Children’s Care, approachable to both staff and residents
  • DBS

Full Time permanent position RSW UP TO £25,000 salary per year. Team leaders £25,7106.64

Location various in Shropshire including SY8, SY13, SY4 and SY5.

All locations are 5 bed homes with females aged between 8-18yo.

Are you an experienced Children’s & Young person support worker? Or do you have a passion for working with and helping shape the lives of our young people?

We are looking for Support Workers who are caring and compassionate individuals with the desire to make a positive difference to the lives of our incredible Children & Young people through leading by example to other Children’s & Young person’s support workers.

BEING A DRIVER AND HAVING A FULL LICENSE IS ESSENTIAL.

What will I be doing?

  • Working closely and collaborative with clinical and local authorities
  • Guaranteed opportunity to be enrolled onto an NVQ Children and Young people’s workforce which is a national recognised qualification within the industry and profession of children’s residential services. This is worth over £6k and fully funded by Cambian

The working day can be very unpredictable and you could find yourself doing a variation of duties such as organising activities to attending parental appointments. We are looking for people who are flexible, reliable, adaptable able to read situations to help our young people make positive choices.

  • Working on a rota basis (average 169 hours a month full time) plus sleep ins depending on the size of the home. We do understand personal commitments and will be pleased to talk about flexible working
  • Meeting the needs of the Children and Young People in line with OFSTED regulations
  • Organising and facilitating Social Activities (out of school)
  • Maintaining the home (laundry, cleaning shopping etc.)
  • Attending & participating in team meetings

Qualifications/Experience/Requirements:

  • We are looking for people who have life skills, having experience with children or health and social care would benefit but this NOT essential
  • We are creating a family for our incredible Children & Young people therefore we welcome a diverse culture

Requirements for an Enhanced DBS and reference checking will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice. Whilst we endeavour to keep the recruitment process as short as possible due to the nature of these important checks it may extend the processing time. All young people are equally entitled to have their needs met in a fair and balanced way. We will conduct online searches of shortlisted candidates. As care must be taken to avoid unconscious bias and any risk of discrimination a person who will not on the appointment panel will conduct the search and will only share information if and when findings are relevant and of concern.

Once you have been shortlisted, you will be invited for an open day to meet some of the company you will be working with and ask any questions you may have. This will be approx. half a day. This day will support you with your full-time role decision and if this is something you are happy to proceed with.
